Tasting Notes

Aromas of grilled plums, rose petals, and blackberries meld with whiffs of black pepper, coconut, and toasty oak. A silky entry gives way to a tsunami of firm tannins that let you know that this dog will hunt. This wine is begging to be enjoyed with food so unleash this puppy at the barbeque where it’s dark, rich textures will pair nicely with caramelized hunks of grilled goodness.

Winemaker Notes

The Wagging Tail Red is a dark red blend of several tasty varietals that will make your tail wag for sure. This wine is dedicated the memory of our pup, Butch, who was loved by all who knew him. In 2010, this non-vintage blend is Pinot Noir, Syrah and Tempranillo. The Pinot is from the Willamette Valley and the Syrah comes from Washington and definitely adds a depth and viscosity to the wine. We added the Rogue Valley Tempranillo to the blend in order to fetch the aromas and flavors of red fruits and coconut flair.
